Berlin

Joanna Murray-Smith’s BERLIN is a romantic thriller set against the overpowering shadow of history. Tom, an Australian abroad meets Charlotte, a German bartender, in a trendy underground Berlin bar and sparks fly. She invites him to stay the night. Ideas are exchanged, intimate secrets revealed, and desire is ignited. The slow burn of this potential one-night stand sets the audience up with the thrill of watching two people negotiate the intricacies of a seduction, but who is seducing whom? In the cold light of day, Tom reveals his true intentions, posing an ethical dilemma that threatens to unravel their strong connection. BERLIN asks the question: how do we live in the present with a past we can never escape?
