The Pyjama Girl

THE PYJAMA GIRL

A fascinating original work inspired by an infamous slice of Sydney history.

It’s 1944. The murdered and unidentified PYJAMA GIRL, preserved in formaldehyde for ten years, rises up to solve the case herself. A cabaret-style musical, the show explores identity, obsession, the fragility of truth, and what the living owe the dead. The Pyjama Girl puts the eponymous corpse in control of her own story, confronting the de-personification of victims of violence at the hands of both perpetrator and public. The show is fast-paced and dynamic, featuring original songs which are great to sing and full of wit and energy.

THE PYJAMA GIRL played to full houses in Wollongong at Five Barrel Brewing in 2019 and is overdue for a Sydney premiere.

'A fascinating piece of theatre…Brilliant music…Even if you don’t like musicals, you’d like “The Pyjama Girl”.'

'One of the most wonderful pieces of original theatre I have ever seen…'
- Caz Prescott, Voice Over
